Neck
The neck, also known as the cervical spine, connects the head to the torso. It has seven stacked bones (C1 to C7) that are connected to facet joints , which enable the neck to move in different directions. The cervical spine is surrounded by muscles, nerves, tendons and ligaments. The spinal cord runs through the center of the spine. The cervical spine protects the spinal cord, supports the head, and allows blood to circulate to the brain.
There are various conditions and disorders that affect the cervical spine and surrounding tissues and nerves such as pinched nerves, injuries, stress, poor posture, physical strain, degenerative diseases, and arthritis.
