Glutes
The gluteal (buttock) muscles consist of gluteus maximus (the largest and strongest muscle in the body), gluteus medius, gluteus minimus tensor fasciae latae. These muscles are responsible for stabilizing the upper body and pelvis, helping in movement, and extending the hip. Daily activities like standing, sitting and walking use gluteal muscles. Pain in the gluteal region can be caused by excessive physical activity, problems in the hip and pelvic bones and joints, sciatica, and muscle spasms.
