Lower Back
The lower back, also known as the lumbar spine, is where the spine connects to the pelvis. It consists of five bones (L1 to L5), which support most of the body’s weight, protects the spinal cord, and enables the body to move in different directions, including walking, running, sitting, and lifting. There are various diseases and disorders in the lumbar spine that can limit mobility and cause pain in the back, hips, and legs.
